French Language Compliance

Service Offering & Capabilities

ScoutLogic provides structured support to clients conducting background screening for candidates located in Québec, Canada, in alignment with Québec’s French-language requirements under Bill 96. This offering is designed to enable regulatory compliance while maintaining platform integrity and operational efficiency.

Scope of French-Language Support

ScoutLogic supports French-language compliance for required employment-related screening documents through the following mechanisms:

1. Client-Provided French Documents

Clients may submit or upload their own French-language consent forms, disclosure notices, and related employment documents for use in the screening process.

2. Translation Services (Optional, Client-Approved)

  • Upon written client approval, ScoutLogic may coordinate professional translation of required documents into French.
  • All translation services are provided at the client’s expense and subject to agreed pricing and turnaround times.

ScoutLogic does not independently determine which documents require translation and acts solely at the client’s direction.

Client Responsibility & Compliance Ownership

To align with applicable Québec regulations and legal standards, responsibility for French-language compliance remains with the employer or client.

The client is responsible for:

  • Ensuring all employment-related documents comply with Québec French-language laws, including Bill 96.
  • Providing French-language versions of any onboarding, hiring, consent, or disclosure documents required for Québec-based candidates.
  • Determining when French-language documentation is legally required and supplying such documentation accordingly.

ScoutLogic provides operational support but does not assume legal responsibility for language compliance or regulatory interpretation.

Platform Language & Application Processing

Platform Language

The ScoutLogic QuickApp and Taz user interface will remain in English.

French-Language Candidate Accommodations

Where a candidate requests French-language accommodation, ScoutLogic may support the process through one of the following client-approved options:

  • Use of a paper-based French application translated by ScoutLogic and funded by the client, which ScoutLogic will manually input into the QuickApp platform on the client’s behalf, subject to an additional processing fee; or
  • Use of a client-provided French application, which ScoutLogic will manually input into the QuickApp platform on the client’s behalf, subject to an additional processing fee.

All accommodations are subject to operational feasibility and prior client authorization.

Commercial & Operational Considerations

  • Translation services and manual application processing are not included in standard screening fees.
  • Additional costs will be disclosed and approved prior to execution.
  • Turnaround times may vary depending on document volume, translation requirements, and client responsiveness.

Summary

This offering enables clients to meet Québec French-language requirements while preserving a consistent global screening platform. ScoutLogic’s model provides flexibility, transparency, and compliance support without imposing unnecessary system changes or regulatory risk.
