We are excited to introduce new series called “Behind the Scout.” This series aims to highlight our dedicated scouts, who offer you valuable support daily. This will be a mixture of professional and personal questions aimed at highlighting the scout’s unique personality. Deana Nance has graciously agreed to be our first “Behind the Scout.”

Question: What initially got you interested in your current field of work?
Answer: I became interested in the background screening industry while working in human resources at a staffing agency. During my time at the staffing agency, I adjudicated many backgrounds and handled most communication with ScoutLogic. I was drawn to the excitement and passion that the individuals I spoke with regularly had towards their products and their efforts to make sure we were satisfied and delighted with our service.

Question: What energizes you about your career in background check screening?
Answer: The wonderful, upbeat, and positive environment at ScoutLogic keeps me energized in my career! I wake up each morning excited to work with a team of individuals who uplift, encourage, and inspire me. Each day I am presented with numerous opportunities to utilize my skills in communication and attention to detail. I enjoy getting to know all of my clients and the ability to establish an open line of communication with them to ensure they know and trust the individual who is working behind their reports!

Question: What’s the best career advice you’ve ever heard?
Answer: The best career advice I have ever heard is “Success is on the other side of fear.” Shortly after the first time I put this advice to the test I was offered a position at ScoutLogic. Conquering my fears and hard work are the reasons I am here today and I could not be happier!

Question: What’s your favorite thing about working at ScoutLogic?
Answer: There are so many great things about working at ScoutLogic! ScoutLogic provides limitless potential for career development and growth within the company. The ScoutLogic Leadership Team does a fantastic job recognizing our employees on a job well done and congratulating us when we receive positive feedback from our clients.

Question: Do you have a professional mentor?
Answer: So many great people at ScoutLogic, it’s hard to choose just one! Gena Yoshimura and Ashley Householder are two individuals that I run to for guidance regularly!

Question: What was the last TV show you binge-watched?
Answer: Considering I have two active little boys, it is nearly impossible for me to binge-watch anything! I have watched all of Yellowstone and am currently watching All American. Two polar opposite shows, but both are great!

Question: What’s your favorite way to spend a day off?
Answer: My favorite way to spend a day off is spent when my husband has the day off as well. We enjoy waking up at our normal time, taking our boys to school and the pups to the groomer, then coming home and tackling a project around the house that we find hard to accomplish while the boys are home!

Question: What song always gets you out on the dance floor?
Answer: There is no stopping me if Get Down On It by Kool & The Gang starts playing!

Question: What’s the phone app you use most?
Answer: I would say there is a tie between Spotify and Pinterest!

Thanks so much Deana!
