Meet Paula Marin. Our next “Behind the Scout.” This series aims to highlight our dedicated scouts, who offer you valuable support daily.

Question: What initially got you interested in your current field of work?
Answer: When I found ScoutLogic, I was looking for a new environment where I can still use my skills as a teacher. I am really grateful that the environment here at ScoutLogic is the one that anyone would love to be in. I did not hesitate to submit my application when I saw the role Education Verification Specialist because I felt like this is the closest I will be to schools where I used to work. It got me excited when I knew I would be training people as I love teaching and I love talking to people.

Question: What energizes you about your career in background check screening?
Answer: Great people and great work environment. I am always excited to go to work because I know that the people I am with at work are like my family. There is an overflowing support anytime you need help. Also, I get to talk to a lot of people which brings me happiness every time.

Question: What’s the best career advice you’ve ever heard?
Answer: “Choose a job that you love to do and you will never have to work everyday.”- Mark Twain

Question: What’s your favorite thing about working at ScoutLogic?
Answer: The culture. The leaders and all the Scouts will make you feel like family all the time. I love how the leaders are supportive. They always make sure that we have everything we need. I love how they make everyone feel included in all the decisions. They will always consider what you feel and what you think. With the Scouts, there is never a dull moment.

Question: Do you have a professional mentor?
Answer: Yes, and I thank Cary and Gena who are always ready to answer any question I have when I first started up to now. I am also thankful to Karen and Ruby who guided me all the way. I am where I am because of all the things I learned from them.

Question: What was the last TV show you binge-watched?
Answer: I watch a lot and I would watch Grey’s Anatomy over and over again but the latest is The Last of Us. I first saw this in PlayStation and I like how they were able to make the series almost the same as the game.

Question: What’s your favorite way to spend a day off?
Answer: Going to places with my family, friend and my boyfriend. We love eating out and just hanging out.

Question: What song always gets you out on the dance floor?
Answer: I would say I am a music lover so anything upbeat would get me moving even though I can’t dance.

Question: What’s the phone app you use most?
Answer: Facebook and Messenger. I feel like this is the primary mode of communication now.

Thanks so much, Paula!
