Meet Rose SawaleOur next “Behind the Scout.” This series highlights our dedicated employees, who offer you valuable support daily.

Question: What energizes you about your career in background check screening?
Answer:  My interest in joining Scoutlogic was sparked by a recommendation from my sister, Kelly. I was thrilled when she told me about the company and mentioned it was in the background check industry. This opportunity was particularly appealing because it would be my first experience working in a background check company, a field that I find both intriguing and essential for ensuring trust and security in various sectors. What excites me most about this industry is the chance to work on the quality control team. I really care about making sure our work is done well. I’m eager to use my skills and learn from the team at Scoutlogic to maintain and improve our high standards.

Question: What’s the best career advice you’ve ever heard?
Answer: “The beauty of imperfection” reminds us to embrace our humanity. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes; they are opportunities to learn and grow in your career.

Question: What initially got you interested in working with ScoutLogic?
Answer: I became interested in working at ScoutLogic when I heard from one of my friends how kind the managers are here and how they provide all the necessary support for employees. After my first interview with Cary and Gena, I knew this was the company I had been looking for. They were so easy to talk to, and I could immediately feel their warmth. They are truly amazing!

Question: What’s your favorite thing about working at ScoutLogic?
Answer: My favorite thing about ScoutLogic is the collaborative and supportive team environment. Everyone is dedicated to maintaining high standards and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our background checks. I also appreciate the continuous learning opportunities and the chance to develop my skills in such an important field.

Question: Describe a day in your life at ScoutLogic.
Answer: I start my day by reviewing my task list and my team’s tasks, including any pending disputes and quality control (QC) tasks. Then, I check my calendar invites to prepare the necessary documents. Lastly, I check my emails for dispute and QC review requests, ensuring they are logged and assigned correctly. On regular days, I help with my team’s QC tasks. At the end or beginning of the month, I prepare QC reports and schedule meetings with Pod Leaders, Directors, and Senior Scouts to update them on their team’s QC status. I check in with my QC team every two hours to answer questions, provide clarifications, and offer assistance. I remind them of pending tasks and ensure they take breaks to stay refreshed. At the end of the day, we update all documents, take notes for the next day’s priorities, and plan to address any disputes/concerns with the Pod Leaders in the morning. Each day is dynamic and rewarding, with a mix of independent work and teamwork, all aimed at providing the highest quality background check services.

Question: Do you have a professional mentor?
Answer: While I don’t have a professional mentor, I regularly seek advice from managers like Cary, Gena, Jodi, Monique, and my boss, Jared. They’ve been instrumental in teaching me the ins and outs of the background check industry. I also enhance my skills by taking online classes, watching instructional videos, and reading books on leadership, management, Excel, and effective ways to handle various work challenges.

Question: What was the last TV show you binge-watched?
Answer: The last TV shows I binge-watched were “One Piece” and “Detective Conan,”  both animated series. “One Piece” follows Luffy and his pirate crew as they search for the One Piece treasure. I love how each character has their differences but works together as a team. “Detective Conan” is about a high school detective named Kudo, also known as Conan, who solves different cases. Watching this series helps me look at things from different perspectives.

Question: What’s your favorite way to spend a day off?
Answer: My favorite way to spend a day off is by sleeping in, enjoying good food, and either reading online novels or watching my favorite animated series. If my family has plans, I’m happy to join in and spend time together.

Question: What song always gets you out on the dance floor?
Answer: I don’t dance but can’t resist singing along.

Question: What’s the phone app you use most?
Answer: 1. Clocks – I rely on them for various functions like world clocks, Pomodoro timers, and regular timers. It helps me manage my time efficiently, ensuring that I stay productive during work hours and make the most of each day. 2. YouTube Music – listening to songs and singing along makes me happy. 3. Calculator – I need to ensure my math calculations are accurate. 4. CCTV App – Since I’m the only one awake at nighttime, I use this app to monitor my surroundings and ensure everything is okay.

Thanks so much, Rose!
